The bulkhead pinouts shown were correct for my car. My car was an AC car with gauges and tach and had more bulkhead connections than show up in the diagram. My belief is that the bulkhead connectors were built based on the options ordered with each car. That is why I documented all of my connections after weeks of searching for answers myself. It matched the diagrams pretty closely though. I am by no means an electrical expert for Chevelles. With all of the sealer the factory put on the outside of the connector, it was the only way I could tell which wire went to which pin. I would suggest checking all of your bulkhead connections with a test light if you haven't already. It matched my original exactly at the bulkhead. My engine harness was all chopped up at the starter and alternator connections, so I replaced it with one from American Autowire. I wouldn't think the locations would change, as replacement harnesses would have to plug in correctly. It matched the diagrams pretty closely though. What I found with my Chevelle is that my bulkhead connector did not match any documentation exactly either. I plan to continue to add photos as I get the wiring installed in the car. Also, if anyone has any additional information they would like to contribute, please send it to me. If I am wrong or have mis-labeled any of these connections please let me know. I hope this is helpful to all of you trying to identify that mystery wire that you just can't figure out what it goes to. Included are several diagrams that I scoured from this forum and the internet. 68 ignition switch backside: Now that I see other info from the AIM, that makes more sense to me than the rectangular drawing/diagram from before. This information is posted on the following web page: I have photographed and documented each and every wiring harness connection in my car. ![]() I want to pay forward the results of my work. I am not new to this forum, but this is only my second posting. And a special thanks to Elree Colby for all of his responses and insight on Chevelle electrical systems. Most of my research was on this forum, and I want to thank everybody who responds to questions. It's been a real puzzle determining what plugs into what, even with a Factory Assembly Manual and factory wiring diagrams. I bought my Chevelle as a project with all of the harness removed and stuffed into a big box. Well, after four weekends of research, reviewing wiring diagrams, and wiring harness cleaning and rewrapping, I've been able to identify all of the connections on all of my harnesses.
